When it came to the website going 'live' I felt it was missing something. And this is the reason. I really wanted to dedicate a page to my Mom. I always feel that children never fully appreciate their parents. I believe so often we take our folks for granted but I never wanted to be like that. I said from an early age that I would one day provide for my Mom, a way for me to say thank you. For being there for me, for always offering me advice, for never doubting me, for always believing in me, for giving me her last penny, for always having my best interest at heart, for standing by me no matter what, for always singing my praises, for telling me that she is proud of me and last of all for telling me that she loves me.
I thank my Mom for the way I am. She raised me to have values, to be respectful, to be true to myself, to be caring, to have manners, to be genuine and not to harbour ulterior motives. It’s because of her that I am honest, sympathetic, loyal, trustworthy, understanding, caring, and empathetic and hopefully intelligent. It’s also due to being raised by a single woman that I have the ability to never be stuck for words. I can talk for hours and hours and hours and hours about anything, in fact I could write about 300 pages for this website but I don't want to bore the pants off you lovely readers. I know so many people say that their Mom is the best but for me everything I do in my life is to make her proud because nothing fills me with more joy than knowing that I make her beam with pride.
Being an only child to a working Mom and having an absent father growing up led me off the
rails for a few years and although I look back with a little regret I realise that these experiences
strengthened me as a person. Those experiences coupled with my Mom's support made me
stronger both mentally and physically and have made me the man I am today. I may have been little and skinny when I was a young boy but now it’s my job to protect her and make sure she’s healthy and happy as she did for me when I was young. She has and always will be the person I trust and turn to for advice. My Mom is still very fit and looks absolutely fabulous for a woman in her 60's, in fact she looks more like my sister than my Mom, I think there must be something in our ancestral jeans I mean genes, unless it’s all the tea and chocolate she consumes as yes, she is a chocoholic and a tea belly!
As a child I was too young to watch the Terminator films although I was fascinated by them especially the title character in Terminator 2, the T800. The T800 is extremely strong willed, super protective and verges on an indestructible force that could be transported to any galaxy to run havoc upon any planet, just like my Mom!!! Watching The Terminator movies as a youngster would always make me dream about having a metal skeleton under my own skin, I know what a weird little boy I was! Now I am big and strong the roles are starting to reverse so maybe I am now the sequel to the T800, could I now be the T1000 which is faster, smarter and more powerful? Well maybe faster and more powerful but I'm not sure about smarter, after all being smart comes with wisdom, experience and intelligence and I'm still acquiring all these attributes... although I keep looking in the attic and I still can’t find them!
So to complete this dedicated page I just wanted to say a massive thank you to my Mom for always showing me so much love and affection, I will always be so grateful to have my Mom standing by my side for now, forever and throughout eternity. I Love You Mom xxx.
